Alexis Poteat, Owner/Managing Artist

Paint and Pals Studio is a group of local artists dedicated to promoting visual arts through entertainment and education. Our objective is to bridge the gap between FUN art and FINE art.

One of Mobile's leading cultural attractions, Paint & Pals offers courses in painting, drawing, mosaics and other disciplines. We strive to simplify the artistic process, while encouraging our students to trust their own creative impulses.

Linda Scott, Managing Eastern Shore Artist

Linda Scott is the managing artist at our Eastern Shore location at the Jubilee Pointe Shopping Center off of Hwy. 98. She’s been painting for over 28 years in oils, watercolors and now acrylics. She finds this creativity and expression the best type of enjoyment and stress relief for her soul.

Born and raised in Chattanooga, TN, Linda and her husband Ron have called Daphne home for over 5 years. As a businesswoman she has been in the promotional products business for 19 years and co-founded Scott and Associates 14 years ago. As a member of the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, Linda serves on numerous committees and currently chairs the Ambassadors.

“When I’m painting, I’m not working. When you find what you love, you never work a day again in your life.” My classes promise to be fun and exciting! You are sure to make new friends and leave with self confidence in your new found artistic abilities.

Tracy Host

Einstein described art as an irresistible urge. Tracy chose to express this urge by allowing the painting to choose its own path. Heavily influenced by the school of abstract expressionism, her non-representational work is a coupling of bold colors and lyrical lines.

When an idea, thought, or memory presents itself to Tracy, she employs various artistic elements to give it life. Her paintings express their personalities through color either washed across the canvas or applied in thick layers to the surface. Movement is established with the element of line. Sometimes demanding in nature, the line work in her paintings directs the viewer's eye.

Tracy has worked as a professional artist for most of the past ten years. Her work is included in private collections across the nation. She is represented by galleries and art brokers in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Georgia.

Jackie Longino Davidson

Jackie Longino Davidson is a self-taught contemporary artist. Originally from Louisville Kentucky, she began painting at an early age. "I am happiest when I have a brush in hand, a palette of paint and a canvas before me. Thoughts and emotions that are usually guarded are revealed to the world through my art."

Leslie Burling

A Mobile native, Leslie Burling earned her BFA in graphic design and photography from the University of South Alabama. She is currently a graphic designer for the Mobile Press Register.

Candy Campbell Bembry

Candy grew up surrounded by water and music. Her mother was an opera singer, her father a jazz musician, boat Captain, and school teacher. . A red headed freckle face tom girl, she spent her summers catching crabs and selling them at Andersen's Marina. A profound love for the South, art, music and the Coast developed.

Candy graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and a Masters Degree in Counseling. In college, she managed a stained glass studio where she taught all levels of stained glass. Here she developed a fascination with glass but was unable to achieve the results she desired. With a background in painting, she wanted more flexibility than stained glass offered and she began making mosaics. Her mosaics could be described as paintings made of glass.

Candy's personal history serves as a motivation for her work. The process of making a mosaic is very tedious and time consuming. Many of her mosaics contain thousands of pieces of glass. The reward comes from seeing a piece come to life. Her artwork is a vehicle for self expression and a time to contemplate thoughts and ideas.

Candy spent several years in the mid-west. After loosing her husband to pancreatic cancer, Candy returned to her roots. She now resides in Daphne, Alabama with her three children.
